The Kane County Fair began last Wednesday, July 14 and ran through Sunday, July 18.  This was Kathleen's first year in 4-H.  She had two projects which she showed at the fair:  two chickens - a Buff Orpington named Tigger and a Wyandotte named Winnie and a group project on Haiti.

Gracie stands next to Kathleen's chickens.

Sights and sounds of the poultry barn.

Tigger waiting in her cage at the fair.

Winnie trying to enjoy her fair experience.

This tur-key won a Grand Champion ribbon.  He didn't have much competition.
This rooster was beautiful and proud and let you know he was there.

Gracie and John waiting for the judging to begin. John wants to be in 4-H next year, and Gracie can't wait for her turn.

Kathleen watches and listens to the judge's critique.

A blue ribbon for Tigger.

AND another blue ribbon for Winnie.

Kathleen was part of a group that worked on this Haiti project and won a Reserve Champion ribbon.

First Day of School for Deven
Deven started her "Soon 2 B 3 Class" last week while we were visiting them.
This was her first structured learning experience, which meets two days a week for 4 weeks.
She was so excited to be going to school.

Meeting and playing with new friends.

Deven was so proud of her book bag and loved to show it off.
