PANSY DeMUNN (HOLLIFIELD)(1927-2010)
Pansy Hollifield DeMunn, 82, of Afton, Tenn., formerly of Kirkland, Ill., died Jan. 13, 2010. Born April 2, 1927, in Marion, N.C., the daughter of James and Verna (Ramsey) Hollifield, she married Gerald O. DeMunn, Nov. 14, 1959, in Sycamore.Before moving to Kirkland, she spent time in Baltimore, Md., assisting the war effort, supporting World War II troops. She was a homemaker and at various times was employed by DeKalb County Home, Automatic Electric and Green Giant. She enjoyed arts and crafts, particularly sewing, and she loved gospel music. Pansy was a firm believer in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and she has gone to join Him in Heaven.She is survived by four children, Alice Robinson, Judy Gentry, Wayne (Pam) DeMunn and Chris DeMunn; seven grandchildren, Darlene Gentry, Jimmy Robinson, Aubrey Robinson, Karen (Jonathan) Schmarje, Christy DeMunn, Jasmyn (Cody French) DeMunn, and Samantha (Dale Patton) DeMunn; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Datha Reaves.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, James "Shorty" Hollifield.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Quiram Kirkland Chapel, 309 S. Fifth St., Kirkland, with Pastor Kelli Beard officiating and burial at Flora Cemetery. Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Monday. Memorials go to Kingston-Herbert United Methodist Church.
