Little Theatre on the Square and PRA Meeting in Staunton

We visited the Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan to see Driving Miss Daisy.

Later we drove to Staunton, VA, for PRA Meeting.  PRA is a group working with rural entrepreneurs to develop small businesses.  We visited Route 11, White Oak Lavendar Farm, Ice House (downtown revitalization), Blue Ridge Community College, Bloomaker, American Shakespeare Center Blackfriars Playhouse, and Barren Ridge Vineyards.

Amish buggy along highway enroute to Sullivan.

The Little Theatre - it had probably been over 35 years since we had been here.

Drinking wine in Staunton.

Get acquainted party at Yelping Dog.

One of the partners in Route 11 chips tells us about her small business and how she got started.

Lots of flavors, but lightly salted is their biggest seller.

Agritourism is big business at the Lavendar Farm which includes petting zoo.

The distiller makes lavendar leaves into oil and water for their products.

Group photo at the Ice House which has been converted to house offices for James Madison University.

A bulb is chosen at Bloomaker.

Then dissected and we see the bloom-to-be inside.

Here are the roses they are growing to bloom for a year.
