Alaskan Land and Sea Adventure

I haven't written my blog for a while. Alaska was a downer, and after we returned home, I was sick with a cold.

It rained most of the time we were in Alaska.  We arrived in Fairbanks for our first stop.  It was cold, wet, and windy. We took a riverboat cruise on the Chena River.  The next day we traveled by van through Denali National Park for the Tundra Wilderness Tour.  Later we traveled by bus to Mt McKinley.

On Saturday we traveled by train to Whittier to board the cruise ship.  Saw a lot of what could have been beautiful scenery, but amid clouds and rain, I didn't see it.

Statue of Granite, Susan Butcher's lead sled dog.

Saw lots of wet people huddled under umbrellas.

Doll sheep in Denali National Park.

Boarding the train for Whittier.

We didn't see any large calving, but saw these smaller ice chunks broken from the glaciers.

On Skagway tour we crossed border to Canada.

This was the view from my window most of the time.

Our dining group in the Amalfi Dining Room.

In Vancouver it was clear and sunny.  We watched this tanker.

It moved along side the ship.

AND "uploaded" fuel for the next cruise.
