Florida Week 1

WEATHER is a big factor and topic of conversation this week.  While we are basking in the warm sunshine of Naples, FL, back home there is lots of snow and cold.  Several inches of snow have fallen and temps below zero with high winds make us glad we are here.

Bon voyage to the Sampsons!  They're on "Freedom of the Seas" cruising to Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.

Cheetos had a much needed bath, and he is not pleased according to Dana.

This duck was considering a swim in our pool to cool off.

We are lovin' this place.  This is the view from our door.

Kenna was lovin' the snow and enjoyed playing in it.

These two manatees have been hangin' out front in the bay.

This osprey sits in the tall pine near the pool and swoops down periodically to catch fish.

Morning walk on the beach.

Will and his friend, Zach, took the bus to the United Center for the UIC-ILLINI game.

Will and his mom celebrated the victory of ILLINI over Indiana on New Year's Eve.

Another view through the door of our condo.
On New Year's Eve we watched the fireworks on Naples Beach.  My video won't upload because of technical difficulties on this site.  I didn't think the fireworks were very good, and they were set off from Naples Pier which is some distance south of us.  If you have watched Derek's 4th of July fireworks, you would not be impressed with these.
