Virginia Beach-October 2013

We have returned from Virginia Beach where we visited Melissa, Caelin, and Georgie, as well as viewed the Sand Sculptures during Neptune Festival.

I couldn't resist posting these photos of Deven and Kenna.  They were helping Mommy decorate the display case in her classroom.

Deven and Kenna make a cute window display.

They look so much like window mannequins.

Leaning to the left.

Sand Sculptures were displayed in this tent on the beach.

Most of the sand sculpture display area was dismantled on Monday, with the sculptures still standing and the tent skeleton remaining.  It rained on Monday evening after the show, and we thought the sculptures would be falling apart.  However, when we went for our morning walk, they still looked pretty good.  After I got dressed, I looked out and this is what I saw.  The sculptures had been mowed down, but the tent skeleton was still standing.

What it takes to be a sand sculptor.

This sculpture has a lot of detail that looks like balls of yarn.

This is the front, but there is also detail on the back.

Caelin buried Georgie in the sand.

There still pumping sludge from Rudee Inlet which makes the beach dirty.
