We went to the Illinois State Fair for Agriculture Day. Had lunch on the Director's Lawn where Orion Samuelson again emceed the awards program.
Alumna Gail Kellogg donated the Lincoln Statue to the Alumni Center. I like it even better than the Red Grange Statue because you can get right up close and interact with it.
I mentioned recently that your dad cut weeds at the 'ol ballpark. As Melissa says, "No good deed goes unpunished." He has been suffering with a bout of poison ivy.

Buttercow at the fair. I didn't think the sculpting was as detailed as previous years. From the website, "she's standing in a puddle with a butterfly on her nose." |
|
Chainsaw sculpting at the fair. |

Clydesdale getting groomed. A vacuum cleaner was used to brush the shedding hair. |

Old time Dean's milk delivery truck. |
|
Hall of Champions at the fair. |

Jer with honest Abe. |

Me sitting on Abe's lap. |

Some of Jer's poison ivy lesions. Fortunately, he didn't have any on his face. |
|
Guess who's having cataract surgery next week? |
