The Illinois Marathon was held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, on the streets of Champaign-Urbana. Derek, Aimee, Monica, and Daren competed in the Marathon Relay. They finished in 3:54:41, averaging a 9-minute mile.
Jerry and I first went to the corner of Main Street and Cottage Grove in Urbana to see Daren in his leg of the race. However, he was faster than we thought, and we missed him. We then went near the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Busey to see Aimee in her leg of the race, but we missed her too. Based on her time, we know that she had to have run by us, but we didn't see her.
Since it was very cold, we went for a coffee warmup, and then met the runners at the stadium.
