Claire's class held a Zoo in their classroom last week. Each student studied an animal of their choice, and then opened the classroom as zookeepers at the zoo. The Zoo reminded me of the song "Horse in Striped Pajamas" from Captain Kangaroo.
Claire chose to study the cheetah. All the kids wore zookeeper hats.
Claire's cheetah, on the left, was displayed with a leopard made by another student.
Animals in the forest included an anteater, peacock, and panda,
Lion, zebra, and kangaroo from the jungle.
Polar bear and penguin from the South Pole.

We enjoyed the Barry Manilow Concert at the US Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington. Barry is a real showman and put on a great concert. I didn't know he had so much appeal to young people. One girl, a few rows in front of us, stood and danced through the whole concert.

Barry at the piano.
Here's the "dancin' chick". She certainly made a spectacle of herself.
Townsend Topics is a pictorial story of my life in ILLINI Country. Hubby and I have five children: two live near us, two in the Chicago "Burbs", and one in Virginia Beach. I use this forum to publish family news and maintain closeness even though we are miles apart.
