This week we traveled to Quincy for the Illinois NARFE Convention. The mission of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees) is to protect the earned rights and benefits of America's active and retired Federal workers. Enroute to Quincy we stopped in Springfield for the opening day of the Springfield Farmers' Market. Earlier that morning Governor Quinn signed the proclamation creating the Rural Affairs Council chaired by the Lt. Governor, Sheila Simon. Hubby was there representing Rural Partners, a group that he chairs and represents on the Rural Affairs Council.

The Springfield Farmers' Market still allows dogs. However, perhaps they shouldn't as there were a couple of dog confrontations during the program. |

My Mothers' Day request this year: "I want each of you to purchase something for your patio or deck that you think I would enjoy, and then take a family picture with your item. I can't wait to see your choices!" So far, the only response I have gotten is from the Roselle Townsends.
