Hubby was invited to attend the Midwest Rural Assembly in Sioux Falls, SD. We decided to turn this into a business/pleasure trip.

First stop-Iowa City - Kinnick Stadium, formerly known as Iowa Stadium, is the home of the Iowa Hawks. The stadium was renovated during 2004-2006, and rededicated September 1, 2006.

Next stop: Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD
I was here in the mid 60's, but it was after Labor Day, and the murals were being stripped to be redone by November.

The exterior murals are redone every year; however, the interior ones are permanent and are only renovated every 10 years to keep them fresh looking.

Falls Park, Sioux Falls, SD This aerial view was taken from the Observation Tower on the grounds.

The music of the falls in Falls Park.

Over the years, we have heard a lot about Lismore, MN, as that is the hometown of Jerry's ex brother-in-law, Terry Hebig. So on our return trip we did a slight detour to see Lismore. This is St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Lismore is a small town with a population of 240. This is the Lismore Bar & Grill.

Most of us have heard of the Little Brown Church in the song "The Church in the Wildwood" written by William Pitts in 1857. The church was built in 1864. Neither knew about the other until after the church was built.

A previous pastor of this church, Rev. Glenn L. Utterback, was the speaker at my 8th grade graduation ceremony in 1958.

The Little Brown Church sits on a beautiful wooded lot along the highway near Nashua, IA.
