The Townsend family was represented at Abe Lincoln's 200th birthday party at the Crown Plaza in Springfield. Tim, Diane, and Abby were there for the dinner and to welcome our first black president, Barack Obama.

This pair of geese seem to return every Spring and hang around till the weather warms up. This year they are very early---maybe they know something we don't.

Lots of records were broken during the ILLINI - Penn St game this week, but they were the kind we'd like to forget. This headline on the News-Gazette sport's page says it all.

After the arrival of the pair of geese, I spotted this robin in our tree this week. Maybe Spring is here, but it sure doesn't feel like Spring.
