The Scare-crow Festi-val was held in St. Charles last weekend. There was a scarecrow contest, arts and crafts show, carnival rides, music, and entertainment.

John, Grace, and Kathleen play scarecrows.

Student Council at John's and Kathleen's school sponsored this group of scarecrows - "Hay-braham" Lincoln and friends.

Kathleen, Gracie, and John take a ride on the slide.

Aerial views from the ferris wheel of the carnival rides and the scenic Fox River.

Since my brother, Bud, and I have birthdays during the Halloween season, having a jack-o-lantern was an important part of the celebration. An old newspaper clipping and picture shows one of the childhood jack-o-lanterns we had in 1949. Check out those "high waters" too.

Here's a handsome group of "punkin heads": Austin, Deven, Tiggie, and Colby
