Jerry got a free bag of annual flower seeds from his garden club. I don't know what these are, but they make a beautiful addition to our small pond and arbor. The large red flowers are cannas.
One tomato is almost ripe, and we have lots of large green ones. We have zucchini and some small grape tomatoes too. Earlier we had a couple varieties of lettuce, onions, radishes, and spinach. This is the largest vegetable garden we've had since the children left home.
I call these "brown eyed susans", but I don't think that is the proper name----the flower catalog calls them "Coneflower".
I love these Stargazer lilies and have admired them for a long time, but we've never grown them. Jer says they were in the free annual mix from the garden club. They are beautiful!
These are red daylilies.
When I was a kid living on the farm, we had lots of hollyhocks growing along side of our chicken house. My mother never liked them and had my dad cut them down and spray with herbicide, but they always came back. These are growing in hubby's perenniel flower garden, and I think the red is gorgeous!
We've had lots of construction activity around here the last couple weeks. We're getting a new paver driveway. Here's a "sneak peek". I'll "show and tell" more about that in a later post.
